Hard worker

Neil has been a very hard worker over the week end:

He deserves a huge hug and a thank-you for doing such a good job. Hopefully the concrete will be done next week end, or during the week after that!

room 2, weekend 2

The next room is inderway, this is the plastic I have put down on the carpet. So fat I don't like it as much as my old platic. My old platic I saved from about 5 years ago when we bought a new fridge and washing machine. HA! to all of tose of you how said I would never use it. This new plastic is really thin and I just know it's going to end up full of holes!

Bin-a-licious

Soon this very large bin will be full on concrete, my back is hurting just thinking about it!

it's so shiney and vacumed and finished.

The blue on the windows actually looks a bit better in real life than is does in the pictures (which are still here) but I am prepared to live with it. Only light colors for trims from now on!
Our challenge for the next room will be a textured feature wall :)

dark blue

I can't work it out.... It's not working and it looks like crap. I know i said the same about the other blue, but i have done an under coat, and 3 coats of this blue and it still looks awful. Don't worry, it looks as bad or worse in real life.

so close to finished

Over the last few weeks months, progress on our renovation has been a bit lot slow. There have been some very good reasons for this (fire, weather, motorcycle trip, recovering from all of these) but the fact remains, progress has not been good. My project plan has gone completely out the window (we where meant to be doing the preparation on the 3rd room by now, we still haven't finished the first). Any way, to keep things nice and positive, I just wanted to let you know that the room is now soooo close to finished, I hadn't even realised how close it was until today. So far today, I have:

• finished the first coat on the skirting (let it dry)
• sanded the skirting, door frame and window frame
• repainted all of the above

This means all there is left to do is the inside part of the window frames. I decided that we would do this in a darker blue than the one we already have used. As today is Goof Friday, Bunnings is shut, but I will go there tomorrow and get the other paint.

I think one of the reason the project had stalled, apart from the factors mentioned above, was that the water based high gloss that we bought was really looking very crap after the first coat. So crap in fact, that I didn't think is was ever going to look any good. This took the wind out of my sails a bit. Anyway, I was determined to finish with it today, and I did. I worked out straight away why it is you do a second coat, it looked way better. I think the end look will now be ok. Maybe I won't even have to get the oil based one for the other darker blue?!??! I'll decide when I get to Bunnings tomorrow.

New Radley bag

I know, I already have a couple, few, alright 3 (and a purse) Radley Handbags, but they are so nice, and when a friend of mine was travelling to London recently, it seemed a perfect time to get another one. You would agree, right? Anyway, here it is:

a new level of lazy

The other day I tossed the dog onto the bed (not in a violent angry way, she's used to it) and she sort of wiggled, and landed on her shoulder then bounced and turned in the air and ended up landing on her back in the middle of the bed. Form there, she didn't move, she just lied there looking up at me, as if to say "Why both moving? This is comfy enough!" I still can't work out how we ended up with such a slack dog.
